He has a special gift when he shoots at a sporting event. Martin is most responsible for capturing the best moments in sports by seizing the unforgettable moments.

Bob Martin began his career at the Lilliehammer Olympics, where he received his first contract in the photography of sports. Inspired, he did not let it go to his head as a young photographer. Martin then became the Director of Allsports, and took over on the sports section of Getty Images, a worldwide corporation that produces photos on the internet and newspapers. Martin, a well-rounded man, has many accolades throughout his successful career. His work has been accepted from about 60 international awards.

Traveling all over the world for his photography, he has met some pretty famous athletes throughout the years. This was only possible because of how many events he worked throughout his career. No matter where the event is, he is there in no time. He says he cannot miss an event as people expect his world famous photography at their sporting event. He has been to the Summer and Winter Olympics for the past 13 years, and will be consulting for the Rio Organizing Committee in at the Brazil Olympics.

After one of the most famous sporting moments in history, that Martin captured with his high quality camera was the moment when Usain Bolt broke the world record in the meter sprint. Bolt represented his beloved country Jamaica, competed in the Summer Olympics in China. The moment was ironic, but perfect. In this photo taken by Martin, the viewer can see that Usain crossed the finish line before the other runners. His finishing style was captured by Martin in a specific and detailed manner.

Martin made sure that the photo tells you the distance by which Bolt won the race. It clearly shows that he was a good couple steps in front of his opponents. Like his photo from the Engadin Skimarathon. Bob Martin likes to create pictures that have a great sense of place in his editorial photography. He believes action photography now is so commonplace for everybody, and you need to bring something else to the table since all the big agencies have competent photographers producing really good action shots.

He strives to find something different and ensures his pictures have a great sense of place, so you can tell where they are from just by looking at them, or you can tell something about the mood of the event.
