Sailormoon was originally a spin-off from the manga "Codename Sailor V", which followed the early beginnings of Sailor Venus. Both manga series were created and written by manga-ka Naoko Takeuchi. The Sailor V manga debuted in , and Sailormoon debuted in The Sailormoon anime series soon followed after the manga, and the franchise so far has enjoyed 3 movies, episodes, various specials, a live action series and even several stage plays, as well as artbooks, mini manga stories and tons of merchandise.

The manga and anime series both ended in , but a special mini-manga: Parallel Sailor Moon, was published in , within the pages of the Materials Collection artbook. In , the entire manga series, including the Parallel Sailor Moon story and the entire Sailor V manga, was republished for the Japanese market under the title "Pretty Guardian Sailormoon".

The name change was used to help promote the live action series of the same working title. The new versions of the manga books feature all of the manga tales, but with updated images, drawn by Naoko in a way to bring out how she originally wanted the books to look.

From on, the official Sailormoon website has featured many of the new images seen in the reprint books, including a new South Park style of Super Deformed Senshi.

The Sailormoon story is mostly centered on Usagi, a year-old schoolgirl living in the 's, but her initial beginnings start over years before she found her powers as Sailor Moon She was named after her mommy, Queen Serenity. Princess Serenity lived during the era of the Silver Millennium. She lived on the Moon, and she had a boyfriend, Prince Endymion of Earth.

One day, a nasty lady named Queen Beryl came along and wanted to own Endymion. But he said no, 'cause he was in love with Princess Serenity. That for me indicated that she must either have figured it out sometime before or she knew their past idenitities all along. And one chapter later, when she reminisces about her time in the past:.

Instead of a composed, elegant queen with sheer endless powers, Chibi-Usa is confronted with a very flawed teenager who is average in almost every way - just like herself which I think comforted her immensely.

Nevertheless, she knew all along that in order find the Silver Crystal of the past, she must find the bearer which can be no one else than her mother. She also knew that her mother, at some point in the past, had been Sailor Moon and no matter how many other gaps there might be, but at the very least, she was also aware of her civilian identity which is why she specifically targeted Usagi. I still disagree. Her lack of reaction when whe has to introduce herself is typical Chibiusa behaviour.

Nothing says that she got an answer. Basically there is no Sailor Sun because the Sun, at least in some sense, has already committed its power in the form of the Golden Crystal to protect the Earth.

The reasons are quite simple, when Usagi is with Seiya, she can be herself, Seiya can laugh with her, joke with her, while Mamoru, on the other hand, is more serious and calm. There are quite a few reasons Chibiusa is disliked. Usagi is, in both the manga and the anime, 14 years old and a second-year junior high school student. Mamoru, on the other hand, ranges between him being 16 at the start of the manga 1 to 18 at the start of the anime.

They are both above the age of consent of 13 and are still both teenagers. Even in the original anime, many scripts list Mamoru as a year-old college student, and Usagi becomes 15 early on in the series timeline. He is shown to be extremely intelligent, so being a 17 year old in college is absolutely plausible. The manga has his age set at a mere two-year age difference of 16, while the anime portrays him as nearly 18 and a college student.

After dating for two years, Mamoru gives Usagi an engagement ring at an airport. Six years later, Mamoru and Usagi marry. Is Seiya in love with Usagi? Is Sailor Pluto in love with King Endymion?
